Still Listening?

Beyond the noise of the encompassing crowd,

There comes a voice, near silent, not loud.

It calls to us like a trusted friend,

Offering love, our lives to mend.

We heard Him once, but He continues calling;

Years ago, Christ saved us from falling.

We closed our ears, for we'd done what we needed,

Having no time for a call that's repeated.

He offers us more, a lifetime together,

He wants to draw closer, not once but forever.

His grace is much more than a moment's transaction,

To only just taste is a puzzling reaction.

Relationship is what our God wants with us,

Each day should be building our faith and our trust.

Would a child stay a child, and refuse to grow?

When God would lead, would we refuse to go?

Seek the Lord, while He may be found.

Learn, and grow, make your foundation sound.

The closer you get to the God of the ages,

The fuller and happier are all of life's pages.
