God Still Heals

I believe in the healing power of God. I believe that God still heals in our time, even miraculously. I need to show my faith by my actions.

Half a dozen years ago I was troubled by stiff legs when I first got up in the morning, or if I ever got up in the middle of the night. I lumbered along like a grizzly bear for several minutes. I got so tired of it that I actually prayed to God to deliver me from whatever was causing the problem. Imagine that, praying for healing in our modern times.

It worked,

Three years ago I had a problem with the middle finger on both hands, something called “trigger finger.” Those two fingers didn’t want to straighten completely, but would curl in toward my palm. I prayed, really prayed, and decided to look up the condition on the internet. I found some hand exercises that, done several times each day, might help. After a couple weeks the problem was behind me.

Knowing from personal experience, then, that God was still in the healing business, why did it take me so long to pray about my sore knees?

The tendons on the back of both knees have been sore for a couple months. Getting out of a chair hurts and takes some time. Other men my age and younger have similar problems. To tell the truth, I got tired of looking and feeling old. I finally decided to pray to God for relief from this nagging problem. I’m not talking about one line added to a longer prayer. THIS would be the longer prayer.

I prayed, long and regular for relief. After just a few days I was better. I’m still improving.

I wanted to handle this myself, without God’s help. Idiot!
