Friends Forever
Probably the most popular graduation song in recent memory has been "Friends," by Michael W. Smith. I don't know how well the kids listen to the words; I know they hear some.
Well, friends are friends forever,
If the Lord's the lord of them.
And a friend will not say "never"
'Cause the welcome will not end.
Actually, friends come and go. People move away, or they stay around and get involved in their own world so much that friends are just about forgotten. Those friends, though, that share a common faith with you in the Lord are the best friends you'll ever have. Jesus Christ is the glue, the common bond, that is a firm foundation for friendship, marriage, and, well, LIFE.
Welcome, friend. Have you met my best friend --- Jesus?
