Difficult News
It's hard to talk to people about Christ. I know it is. Some of the greatest evangelists still get nervous.
I think it has a lot to do with how different this news is. It's Good News that Jesus died to pay for our sins. It's not like our normal conversation, though. It's not like the weather, which we really can't do anything about. It's not like talking about politics, since most legislation is worked on far from us. The good news we long to share is life-changing, and life saving. It's more important and immediate than what we normally talk about.
To share the important, extremely relevant news about Jesus making a way for us to have eternal life, we need to establish a relationship with people. As the old saying goes, "People don't care what you know until they know that you care."
