Do I Need More to Do?

I Corinthians 10:13 says, "God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it."

That's where we get the maxim, "God will never give you more than you can handle."

Not true!

First of all, I have many, many times had more than I could handle. I think God is pleased, when I realize there are many things I can't handle on my own and have to turn to him for rescue. I need to always keep it in mind that I need God every day, not just when I'm at the end of my own resources. Haven't we all realized, in this year of the COVID-19 pandemic, that there are some things we just can't handle on our own?

And, besides, it's not always God that gives us more than we can handle. Sometimes it's other people piling more work or responsibilities on us. Sometimes we take on too much. I hate to admit it, but sometimes I have more than I can handle because of my own stupidity.

No, I don't need more to do. I'd rather have a light to moderate load. There will be times when there will be a heavy load, and God is there.

I wish I was smart enough to always let God carry my load with me, whether light or heavy.
