Taking the Heat

Yes, I was a Boy Scout. It just so happens that my Uncle Louie was the local Scoutmaster, so it was inevitable. I participated from fifth grade into tenth grade. After that, I was more interested in perfume and gasoline!

I learned a lot about tying knots, tent camping, and nature. It's not true, though, that every Scout learns how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together.

Actually, there's a little more to it than just using two sticks, but we won't get into that.

What brought all this to mind? Think of, as one stick, all the precautions we take as we fight Covid-19. Now think of reopening our economy as another stick. These two 'sticks' are rubbing hard against each other right now. If we reopen businesses too soon, more people die. If we wait more businesses die. Our president and governor seem to have found themselves at the point of greatest friction. They are enduring a lot of heat!

How can they know when and how much to reopen our economy? They can't, and neither can any of us!

God alone knows the answer.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Keep praying, President and Governor, and we will, too.
