Not My Kind of Trip

We've got great sidewalks, but they are aging. Once they were perfectly smooth, but now there are a few uneven places.

Really, that's not much of a problem. A person just has to watch their feet a little.

The problem I have with the sidewalks is actually my own fault. When I walk my dog after dark, sometimes the uneven sidewalks cause me to trip. The ensuing scrapes and bumps are pretty inconvenient.

I know, I know, I should just walk my dog during daylight hours. That would be the simplest solution. It seems I often try to cram too much into a day and, well, I run out of daylight. Walking by the light of street lights works, if I just remember to pick up my feet a little as a precaution.

I would get a lot fewer scrapes and bruises if I'd just walk in the light.

Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." I'm following Jesus, because I get fewer scrapes and bruises.
