No Pioneers

I'm really impressed with people that start their own business from scratch. Beginnings are always a struggle, but with patience, perseverance, and many tough times, something good can be built.

Not many will do that anymore. Where are the pioneers? I realize that we all need others that will come alongside to help after an endeavor is off the ground, but we all can't be a joiner. Somebody has to be a starter.

Clubs, churches, even small businesses are floundering now because we lack those who will join when numbers are small. When you are one of only a few, you have great responsibility to keep going, to show up, to link arms with the few others. You are depended upon. When the endeavor is a success, you'll receive ample credit, but some would rather not risk that, in case the whole thing fails.

Isn't that kind of going out on a limb? "From whence does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1a-2
