Is That a New Car?

One of our two family cars is getting a little age on it. Granted, we only drive it ten or so miles a week. Still, my wife and I have been thinking about replacing it with something newer.

We've been thinking about it a couple years now. We just don't get serious about the project.

And the car just keeps on running, pretty well most all the time.

Both our cars are paid for, and I don't look forward to having car payments again. I know several people that, when they finish paying for a vehicle, they start saving for the next one. They keep making a 'payment' each month into savings, so that next time they need to buy a car, they'll be able to pay cash, at least for a lot of it.

What does that remind you of? When many of us are in need of prayer, because of illness or some other crisis, we are consistent and persistent. When that crisis is past, maybe we should keep making 'prayer payments' so that we'll be 'prayed up' when trouble comes again.

"And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:7-8
