Dependably Different

Ah, Alfie. I love that my dog is not a graduate of Obedience School. Our daily walks are much more interesting than they would be if I had to be in control. I am only responsible for street crossings.

Alfie demands adventure. He wants to find something new about every walk. Admittedly, he does have to check on every major part of town regularly, to make sure nothing has changed. Even then, we'll walk on a different side of a street than usual, or cut off a big corner of a neighbor's yard.

There are many days when I would rather stick to a known route. I want the exercise without much thought. It's only later that I appreciate that we discovered something out of the ordinary. Alfie is dependably creative.

I hope you understand that God is like that. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. In the beginning, God was creative (Genesis 1:1), today God is creative, and for all our tomorrows God will be able to make new solutions to any problem that comes up.
