Not Me This Time

It's over.

All you really want to do is think about how awful life is now, how it will never be like it used to be, and how there is now an unfillable hole in your heart. All that kind of thinking centers on yourself. You've got to get out of that spiral toward depression.

It's not easy, but the best thing you can do to get over a major loss is to help somebody else. It has been proven to work wonders.

News flash: You don't have to be sad to be helped by thinking of others! It just makes sense that, if getting your mind off yourself helps when you're hurting, it ought to make you feel better even when you are not hurting.

It works. The happiest people are not the ones who have everything, but those who are constantly giving part of what they have to others. It takes energy to hold tight to things.

Luke 6:38 says, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap, for the measure you give will be the measure you get back." I don't know if I've written this before, but let me tell you now: The Bible has alot of commands and guidelines, and they are all there to make your life better, not worse.

So give yourself away. You've got alot to gain.
