What Is a Cold Day?

It feels cold today. Is that crazy? It was in the upper twenties one day this week, about twenty degrees warmer than in my hometown in New York State. How could I be cold?

I've actually been a Southerner now for thirty-eight years.. Any tolerance I have for cold weather is long gone, decades in the past.

Alfie, our dog, is the one who tolerates cold well. We're not exactly sure what breed he is, since he just showed up one day as a pup, but it seems obvious he is related to those sled dogs in the Arctic regions who sleep in snow drifts and consider it warm.

Last year, the temperature one night got down to sixteen degrees, and we packed pine straw (pine needles, for you non-southerners) around his dog house for extra insulation. He appreciated it! The next night it got down to eighteen, two degrees warmer, and he chose to sleep outside.

When you are of a warmer nature, the world seems a warmer place! Get it? Those with God's Spirit inside seem to find less to complain about. The world seems less cold.
