Saving the Elf Shoes

One of my relatives was recently in a play. Part of his costume was a pair of green, pointy-toed 'elf shoes.' Somehow they got left with me, and when I told him, he insisted that he wanted them. "Don't throw them away!"

Now, to the uninformed, they look like something of little or no value. To him, though, they are a token of a great experience with a wonderful troupe of actors.

Do you have any elf shoes? I'll bet you have something in your attic or in a closet that is a memento of a special past event. Someone else might not see the value, but you do. Don't let anyone else clean out your closets!

I don't want to be saved in somebody's attic or closet(!!!), but I do want to live my life in such a way as to remind others of special past times of fellowship or shared learning experiences. Better yet, maybe something we do can remind others of God, in some small way.

"I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now." Philippians 1:3-5.
