Leave Me Alone

I'm impressed with how easy it is to be alone.

If a person really wanted to, he could live a life that really limited relationships. It's not that hard anymore. For instance, just a few years ago, everyone was known by the local postmaster. You at least had to go buy some stamps every now and then! Now you can do that online. Prepaid boxes for mailing can also be bought in the same way, so it is not necessary to even have the postmaster weigh a package.

All your banking can be done without going to the institution in person. Clothing, books, prescription drugs can all be acquired without leaving the home. If you actually shop in person, it can be so rare that no cashier or associate recognizes you!

Many smaller stores have been unable to compete with the retail giants, so much of our shopping is now done in stores where we rarely see the same employees more than once in a year.

I think it is now easier to live a solitary life than one enriched by relationships. How sad.

God calls us to a life full of relationships. "Love your neighbor as yourself." "Go to all the world and make disciples." We need each other!

Seems like God's adversary has discovered the old military strategy, 'divide and conquer.'
