Time for Friends

It's crazy, I guess, but at times I've told folks that it looks like I don't have time for friends.

Friends take time, don't they? You've got to take time to keep up with each other's lives. You've got to care when they're sick, you've got to rejoice together, you've got to share a meal every now and then. It all takes time.

On the other hand, there is nothing like a friend when you are down. There's nothing like a friend when you've been lonely. There's nothing like a friend when this old world picks you off your feet, throws you down, and stomps all over you.

A friend is someone you can run to with good news, so it doesn't nearly burst inside of you. It takes a friend to listen when you finally understand what life is all about, and you just need to say it out loud to someone, so you know you really have understood it yourself.

If you've ever had a good friend, you know that you will always make time for them, somehow, someway.

Thank God for friends!
